Post Secondary Agreements

Faculty members have aligned their courses and competencies with post-secondary programs. As a result of their efforts, students have the option of earning college credit for their work in CTE programs. Credits are fully transferable to other two or four-year institutions. Below is a list of available programs here at the Hugh Gallen Career Center with additional credit opportunities:

  • Accounting: 3 credits Accounting I (White Mountains Community College)
  • Automotive Technology: 3 credits Introduction to Automotive Technology (White Mountains Community College, Central Maine Community College)
  • Broadcast Technology: 3 credits Broadcast Journalism (Lyndon State College, Lyndonville VT)
  • Construction Technology: 3 credits exempted Construction Management Program(Southern New Hampshire University)
  • Computer Technology: 3 credits IT Essentials (White Mountains Community College)
  • Essentials of Finance/Global Commerce: 3 exempted (Southern New Hampshire University)
  • Health Science Technology: 3 credits each: Medical Terminology (White Mountains Community College) and Exercise Science (Manchester Community College)
  • Teacher/Education: 3 credits Foundations of Early Childhood, Health Safety and Nutrition (White Mountains Community College)
  • Pre-Engineering/Engineering-Project Lead the Way (numerous colleges)
  • Manufacturing
  • Fire Science (Lakes Region)

Automotive

Gallen CTC AutomotiveIf you are interested in the fast growing automotive and transportation industry, including Auto Technician, Truck and Diesel Technician, Auto Collision Technician, Motorcycle and Boat Maintenance, as well as many engineering and fabrication industries, this course is for you.

Broadcasting

Gallen CTC BroadcastThe redesigned Digital Video Production program (formerly Broadcast Technology) encompasses a variety of industry standard film and television roles. The focus of the program offers students a chance to work with a variety of high tech equipment.

Building Trades

Gallen CTC BuildingWith the Building Construction Technologies curriculum at the Gallen center students will gain valuable, hands-on experience working on a variety of construction projects. They will learn the necessary skills to begin a career in the construction industry, or proceed to a two-year technical, or four-year college.

Business Administration

Gallen CTC BusinessBusiness Essentials and Global Business and Marketing are two courses that are available to students interested in a career in Business. Students who successfully complete this two year course will have the skills and hands-on experience to confidently gain entry level positions within the Business Industry.

Computer Technology

Gallen CTC Computer TechnologyThe Computer Systems Technology course teaches students the skills necessary for any of the multitude of IT fields available today. If you have an interest in Computer Security, Networking, Computer Forensics, Engineering and even the Medical Fields, all of them incorporate IT every day.

Engineering

Gallen CTC Computer TechnologyManufacturing Technology is a series of steps to bring hands-on-learning to students and to bridge the gap between science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Manufacturing will continue to face challenges as we move forward to the future. It is essential our students and potential workers have the knowledge and skills needed to continue to advance this vital sector of our economy in New Hampshire.

Health Science

Gallen CTC Health ScienceEmployment among Health Care Occupations is expected to grow nearly 19% from 2014-2024 adding nearly 2.3 million jobs (US Bureau of Labor & Statistics) As new developments allow for treatment of more medical conditions, more health professionals will be needed. An additional 440,000 Registered nurses (with a 2015 median pay of over $62,000) will be needed to meet the demand for services.

Teacher Education

Gallen CTC Teacher EducationTeacher Education gives students both the academic and work-based learning experiences they need to start their journey towards a career in the education field. Students quickly enter the world of teaching in the on site preschool as they observe and practice their skills. Students also visit and do field studies in many other classrooms in the district from Kindergarten through high school. As they observe students, teachers and support staff in a variety of settings they learn about different learning styles and teaching strategies and explore the many different careers available in the education field.

Technology Education

Gallen CTC Technology EducationTechnology Education is a comprehensive program for middle School students at Daisy Bronson to explore Engineering related problems and work hands on within a Project-Based Learning environment.
